Born in the city of Surabaya Central Java (Indonesia), Iwan Sunito has become a renowned name as the CEO and co-founder of Crown International Holdings Group. Having grown up as a lazy child, Iwan Sunito was not being proclaimed as a surefire entrepreneurial success from his childhood. To further his chances, he moved to Australia in 1985 to pursue a greater education and become more focused. Indonesia has always remained a part of his roots and he has truly never forgotten where he came from. The move to Australia was certainly a positive as it played a major role in his success.
Period Of Education
What did he end up studying when he went to Australia? A business degree? Quite the opposite, he gained his Bachelor of Architecture (Hons) degree and Master's in Construction Management a year later. Both degrees were earned from the University of New South Wales. He even began to pursue a career as an architect early on after graduating.
Career Path
While being a humble and calm individual, Iwan was ruthless when it came to pursuing his dreams and becoming successful. While he began his career as a simple employee with Cox Richardson Architects, this was just the beginning. Being an employee was not something he wanted to do and this meant he had to start running his own business. He wanted to be his own boss.
Just like most entrepreneurs, his family was his backbone and supported him as he tried to reconstruct his path towards success. He built a residential project in the Bondi Junction area in order to get started along with his friends. This was just the tip of the iceberg as he eventually founded Crown Group with Paul Sathio after graduating.
Success Of His Business
The path for Crown's success was not an easy one, but it was made possible as Iwan found doing business in Australia was more straightforward. Indonesia did not offer this kind of transparency. He always believed in being honest with his business and wanted to rely on his business acumen to gain a foothold in the market. His hard work paid off as Crown International Holdings Group is one of the biggest names in the property development world and has gained incredible success. Some of their most successful projects include developments in Pennant Hills, Strathfield, Five Dock, Homebush, and Epping.
For Iwan, the goal of his business is to ensure clients attain luxury at an affordable price. A new development is on the rise as they are looking to release it under the name "Sky by Crown" in June. This will be a 20-storey complex that is designed by Koichi Takada. What will make this complex special? It will have 232 apartments that all have balconies, winter gardens, and glass facades. This project is already being pinned as a success due to the interest that it has generated among the masses prior to launching. It is all about the company's reputation and how successful their past projects have been.
Community Service
Being successful for Iwan is not only about the business, but about what he is able to give back to the community he lives and works in. He has always provided business workshops to help those who want to succeed. Along with business workshops, he has sponsored charity events, music festivals, and many other activities in Indonesia. Along with his philanthropy, family has always been important for Iwan and he is now happily married with three beautiful children.
